Freya Swarbrick

Freya is a fourth year music student at the University of Western Australia where she has studied violin performance under Paul Wright and Semra Lee-Smith. She has participated in the West Australian Youth Orchestra, Australian International Symphonic Orchestra Institute, the UWA symphony orchestra, and the St. George’s College Chamber Orchestra. Last year she was awarded the Flora Bunning Prize for chamber music and granted a scholarship from the Wesley Uniting Church. Freya also loves to sing and is currently studying under the tutelage of Sara Macliver. Freya began choral training in 2008 in the senior choir and chapel choir at John Septimus Roe ACS. In 2012 she attended an Eton Choral Course directed by Ralph Alwood and sung for the Queen at CHOGM. Since then she has become a member of the Giovanni consort and the St. George’s Cathedral Choir and Consort. In 2016 Freya participated in the National Youth Choir of Australia in Melbourne, directed by David Hill. Other memorable experiences include performing with the Rolling Stones and Hilltop Hoods at Perth Arena. Freya hopes to combine her love of the violin and singing in her postgraduate studies.
